Good base
Hotel Fenices location is perfect for any shopping fiends out there. Its on Corsa Buenos Aires, the main shopping strip and the Metro is directly opposite the restaurant. Otherwise you can walk into the centre within 20 minutes. The hotel clean and comfortable but in need of renovation. Any questions, make sure to ask the day staff, you wont get many answers out of the night staff.
Oh and there is a lovely pastry shop on Corsa Buenos Aires- great for hot chocolate.

a good value for money hotel - excellent position
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
use the metro - very cheap and handy after a full day shopping!Do not go to the bar which overlooks the front of the Duomo it is incredibly expensive (12 euroes for a coke and espresso)

A good value
The hotel is small and the rooms even smaller. My room was most likely the smallest one I have ever had. However, it was clean and everything in very good condition. Since thelocation is on a busy street there is considerable noise. If this bothers you, you may have a hard time sleeping. The staff was very friendly and helpful with information. The best thing about ths hotel was the location. Just above one of the underground stations and only 5 minutes by train to Duomo. Many good restaurants within walking distance. Pricing was very good even when 2 big trade shows were taking place in Milan. Excellent value for the money if you use the room just for sleeping.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Use metro for getting around and buy a multiple-ticket pass.

Good Value for Money
The location was superb, only 20 mins walk from the Doumo and main shopping area.Metro/Tram and Taxis right outside the hotel. The Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and clean with a good shower and wash room, and good decor with comfortable beds. The mini bar in the room was a bonus. The breakfast was excellent and everything was fresh. There were 2 quality restaurants opposite the hotel which were authentic italien and the welcome and service was unbelievable. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we will definitely return to this hotel and location.

Nice little hotel
I would go back. Nothing special but extremely convenient to a Metro stop. Nice but busy area. On a nice day you can walk about 20 minutes to the Duomo. Didnt have many dealings with the staff but they were nice and helpful. Room was small but clean. We were on the side away from the street with no traffic noise. The included breakfast was typical of Europe. Enjoy the ham, cheese, and rolls.

GREAT QUALITY HOTEL, EXCELLENT LOCATION
This hotel is a safe option if you want a good value, clean hotel that isnt in the immediate city centre but within very easy reach. Hotel- good standard, modern, clean, tidy with motivated and friendly helpful staff. Small bar and lounge area and room for breakfast. ROOMS - can be small but most are fine for a few days. Rooms either face the main busy street or the back courtyard. Street facing rooms can be noisy with traffic unless you shut the window. Some front rooms have balcony giving you a great city centre buzz of noise and atmosphere. Room beds are OK but bit hard, only one pillow each. Bathroom and shower are fine.tv with one engish channel CNN. Mini bar with average prices. BREAKFAST Served to ten thirty am - continental bit basic breads, cereal cheese ham etc but great pastries! LOCATION On busy road with main shops on the main artery into the centre of milan. Around the hotel are shops a few bars and restuarants and a supermarket (turn right five mins walk). BARS etc near hotel Not many. However on other side of road is a little street bar cafe called Little Italy. Great for coffee drinks snacks and light meals. U can sit on the street people watching. Open till late - sat out at 1am in october! Good atmospehere.
Traveller's tip on dining
Dont head to the centre, get a taxi to the main nightlife. Alternatively near the hotel, cross the road and head to left hand corner under the clock. Turn right first restaurant along - very italian good food and atmosphere. The Duomo is breathtaking - so are the bar and food prices in the immediate vicinity. avoid these and the ones in the galleria which are obscenely over priced. Opposite duomo head down these roads for 15 mins and you will come across some restaurants more modestly priced.
