Average Hotel near Airport
We needed a hotel near airport for our departure early the next morning. The hotel room was clean, but very warm, and the heater was off. We had to open our window to cool off. The room was good size for Europe. Bed was hard as normal Europe hotels. Flat screen TV, 20 channels, mostly Italian, no english. Restaurant was too expensive but no other restaurants in the area. We did find a McDonald’s (embarassed to admit) - about a 15 minute walk. No wifi because of some contract dispute - very disappointed in that, so check to see they have that fixed if that’s important to you. The taxi was 13.50 euro to airport - we were not happy with that, but what choice do you have at 5:30am. The taxi was metered.
In Florence - Uffizi, Michaelangio’s Hill, Duomo and climb to the top for great view of the city, day trip to Siena, go to bus station and buy bus ticket to Siena, don’t pay for a tour, Irish Pub on Gallo street and good restaurant just north of there too.

The hotel was convenient for me as is more accessable than Central Florence.
The hotel is fairly clean and tidy, and was easily accessable by road. The restaurant is OK if not inspiring, and breakfast is quite good. For a business trip, the accomodation was satisfactory, but for holiday purposes it would be much better to stay in the centre of town. Facilities are limited to the essentials and there is some traffic noise as the hotel is situated on a main road.
