Beautiful setting
This was our first stop in the UK and the staff was so attentive from the moment we arrived. We would go back there and recommend this hotel to our friends.

Needs to sharpen up its act
The location is perfect, the overall ambience classy and the reception and concierge staff very good. Public areas (lounges) very pleasant. Dinner in the restaurant was an excellent gourmet-style meal. However: there is no tea and coffee making equipment in the rooms and morning tea for two from room service is £8. The worst thing of all was the breakfast - £20 a head for poor buffet with wilting fruit, burnt fried bread and generally inferior "full English", cold toast, not enough butter, shortage of marmalade and poor service. I dont mind paying £20 for breakfast in a 5* hotel if its a luxury breakfast - but I had a better one in a motorway service area the day before for £5.99!
The Table dHote dinner was excellent and Id particularly recommend the souffle - best Ive ever had. Id recommend the restaurant even if not the hotel.

Not Impressed
Although room large and comfortable some of the furniture needed to be replaced or cleaned. We were in a garden room above the spa and the stairs leading up seemed almost seedy. The spa itself was smaller than I expected since it is marketed as a Spa Hotel. The bar and restaurant felt cold and uninviting.
