Excellent Value for Money

Gold Buda is a very good small hotel in a great location. Easy to walk to main sights and restaurants. Room was well presented but we were right at the front of the hotel and is was very noisey from the traffic.

Great Place to stay

One of the strengths of this hotel is its staff. All spoke very good English, were very helpful and went out of their way to ensure that one had an enjoyable stay in Budapest. We would recommend this boutique hotel highly. Included good buffet breakfast. Fairly close to a bus stop

Bus from city stops reasonably close to hotel which is necessary as its a long walk uphill

Consider the location carefully

We stayed in the adjoining apartments, which were comfortable and spacious, but basic. Though there is a 4-ring hob, there are no cooking utensils, so do not expect to self-cater. The hotel was clean and breakfast reasonable and varied. It is very convenient for Gellert Hill and quite so for old Buda. The main reservation is that it is not convenient for eating out - most restaurants are in Pest. Though there is a regular bus service from directly outside the hotel. We cannot comment on the hotel restaurant, since the one time we tried it, we waited an hour and still not even offered a drink; it was quite busy, but that is just poor service. Note the hotel is located on a very busy dual carriageway, so expect traffic noise throughout the day. Free internet access is a good feature.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Good price and apartments are spacious for 4. Free internet access is useful for checking events and weather etc.
