Great location - very expensive
Perfect location on Grand Canal, next door to Harrys Bar and near St Marks. Very impressive contemporary public areas. Rooms quite small but comfortable. Wonderful terrace on the Grand Canal, great for breakfast and dinner though you pay for it!

A wonderful, classy place to stay - very close to St. Marks
This is a very stylish hotel, located just 50 meters from St Marks square and on the Grand Canal; its terrace overlooks Santa Maria Della Salute and the lagoon. Customer service was attentive and polite; so not be afraid to ask for held as the concierge is excellent. My single room was extremely well-appointed; easily the most spacious and salubrious single room in which Ive stayed. The room was cleaned thorughly twice every day. The public areas are delightful and the terrace is superb; one of the finest on the Grand Canal - make sure you get an outside table for breakfafst. My only complaint would be the cost of everything, especially now as the Pound is so weak against the Euro; even so, seven pounds for a glass of house wine is a little expensive. They also charge for internet access so check your bill carefully. To sum up, if you are looking for a prestige hotel, close to St Marks and on the Grand Canal, you cant go wrong with this stylish hotel. They even have a vaparetto stop and a gondola station right outside. There are cheaper hotels but nothing can match the ambience and location of this fine hotel. Highly recommended.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Avoid St Marks square during the day. Get up ealry to visit the campanile, the doges palace and the basillica, and then disappear as it fills up with day trippers who just want to take photos and feed pigeons. Go back at night to see it at its best. Venice is very expensive so find traditional osteria for a cheap lunch. Use the traghetto, like the venetians, for a cut price gondola experience - only tourists sit down in them! Wander as much as possible - get lost in Venice!

Wonderful hotel in a wonderful city
My husband and I chose this hotel after happening upon it on the Internet. After seeing photos of the location we were convinced, and the hotel didnt disappoint. Everything about our stay was excellent. The staff was courteous and helpful, the decor was fresh and new, and the included Continental breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal was the high point of our visit to Italy. I recommend it highly.
