An excellent value hotel.

My wife and I had an excellent experience with this property. No, it is not a 5-star, but then if you wanted that you would have made reservations several months ago at the ******* ***, and stayed with the train car. Our room and the public areas that we saw were clean and neatly kept. The wall paper and carpets are a bit dated but serve very well. I would return to this property. If you haven’t noticed, West Yellowstone, Montana is a very seasonal city. Just check the airport "hours of availability" and you will understand why the pool is closed in early June. (WYS is closed, along with a good number of the hotels inside West Yellowstone during the Winter.) We will return to West Yellowstone in the future.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

West Yellowstone (to me) is one of the best ways to get to Yellowstone Park. If you want an interesting drive, leave via the NE entrance, and take the Beartooth Highway to Red Lodge, Mt.

A substandard hotel

We got a key for a room already occupied. We were give another room, after embarrassing and being embarrassed by being placed in this situation. The door in the new room was hard to open. The room was smelly. The TV had only 4 channels. We counted the secondss to leave the hotel in the morning. It the main reason we shortened our visit to Yellowstone

I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE BAD REVIEWS

I shouldve listened to the other reviews in Trip Advisor and other sites. This place is a dump with really bad staff. The manager conducts her business and personal life from the same counter. She had all her friends come to hang out with her and her new born baby at the entrance of the hotel/motel/hostel (call it what you want). We were first placed in a room that had someone in it already. Then we asked for a fridge and the manager in a rude way said NO MORE ROOMS with fridges (geez, sorry for asking). It says on their site that these are upon request. The outlets in the room didnt work. They advertise for coupons to help the customers get local discounts but we asked every day and they had a different excuse for why they were out. The pool is more like a hole in the ground. The hot tub is actually bigger. They had damaged old appliances blocking the stairwell (talk about a fire hazard). For what we paid, I wouldve enjoyed more camping out and roughing it. IT IS NOT WORTH PENNEY TO STAY THERE. BE AWARE!!!

Not impressed

When we drove up and saw the broken and boarded up windows, I thought to myself this must have just happend and they just have not had time to fix them. Then we walked in as saw that the pool was empty in the middle of summer. The only good thing I have to say is that the rooms were clean and when we checked in the clerk at the front desk was nice.

Not a place to relax - forget this one

The hotel room originally given stunk, no bathroom vent or fan; bed were old and lumpy, door not secure. I complained and was lied to by the desk clerk at first - no rooms available, she said, this is after I overheard her quote 3 rooms to a caller who did not seem interested after the bad attitude. To make long story short, got a better room and stayed there for 3 days. This is a delapidated hotel that needs about a year’s worth of renovation. Everything is bad, except the cooking of the one-man show in the kitchen. Badly run business that needs infusion of cash and staff overhaul. Horrible.

Do not stay here! Your family will hate you! The pool in the picture is very small, very dirty, very broken and "out for the season" in the middle of summer’s searing heat. The wifi access only works directly around the main desk.

Better than sleeping outside with the mosquitos.

I hate to complain about a locally owned small buisness, the rooms were fairly clean. I have young children and tend to be over critical. The towels and sheets were clean, the building however, is showing signs of age and wear. There was breakfast offered as an ’all you can eat buffet’ for an additional cost.

Dissapointing

at check in,the hotel appeared run down. When asked about the pool we were told it was not in season although it was nearing the end of June there was no water in the pool. When we got to our room there was a broken window with jagged glass inside. When I informed the front desk they said it was from winter snow, the owners had been informed and had done nothing and that we would be okay, even though I was traveling with three children. The beds were uncomfortable and had no mattress pads, the sheets did not fit and kept comming off during the night. When asked about a roll away I was told that they had them but that they were all breaking and so they were afraid to let anyone use them. This was a fairly expensive night and so not worth it. I would not stay here again!

very misleading

i was under the impression that this hotel had a air condition in each room, it wasn’t until i was there that i figured out that there was not any air condition in any room. it was very hot and my family and i couldn’t sleep. the web site said that they air condition, when they cleary did not. we had to try and find another hotel in the middle of our trip. they did nothing to try and make up for the lack of air condition. they also have down that they are a 1 and half star hotel and i wouldn’t even give them any. the property was very trashy and run down. i can’t believe what they were charging for that place. the stuff that they have under there amenities should be redone because most of it isn’t true. i will not ever give that hotel name to any family or friends.
