A perfect choice in Anchorage.
The hotel is an older restoration that seems it was done yesterday. There is no bar, but the Hilton is across the alley with a fine one. But, as far as a stay, Hiltons are all alike, and the Anchorage has historic character. The location is also within a couple of blocks of excellent restaurants, "Ginger" being the most innovative, but "Club Paris" the most down-home Anchorage. It is also only a short walk from the city’s excellent museum. The hotel staff is outstanding, always helpful and quite knowledgeable about the area’s attractions. I was there for a few days for business, but had ample time to play, and I can’t think of a better base to see the town. I’ll definitely return.

Great location in downtown
Nicely refurbished historic hotel in downtown Anchorage. Close to everything and yet quiet. Smaller rooms but clean and modern. Breakfast included. Staff very helpful.
Easy walk to local bus station to get to airport. Much cheaper than taxi.

The Historic Anchorage Hotel is a beautiful hotel in a great downtown location within walking distance of numerous bars and restaurants.
