Best Western Parc and what a park!
I was a bit cautious or staying outside the normal city hotels. I usually stay within the hustle and bustle of the Bucharest. I managed to negotiate it down to Euro15, only realise the hotel is about 5 minutes away. The return journey cost me about 7.5 Lei (Euro 2) They have their charge per KM on the outside of the taxi on the front wind. A very good taxi will charge Lei 2.99 per KM (Grant Taxi which often have mercedes or a new saloon) but most are around Lei 1.65. Any above 2.99 (in April) is a a dodgy so avoid it. The hotel reception was very polite and having booked through expedia and having a smile on my face, I got upgraded to a Business Room!. The hotel has a great view of a major Park, Herastau (I think) which has a lovely lake. I went for my regular jog round it and enjoyed the oasis after a hard day trying to find business!. You can catch the 331 bus from outside the hotel to Raifaissen bank (1-1.5Lei if you pay!) and get the Metro into the City (2.2 Lei: You must buy a ticket from the entrance to the turnstyle). I enjoyed actually travelling with Romanians and not getting ripped off by a fortune hunting taxi driver. The breakfast buffet at the hotel has lots of choice with fairly attentive staff. The restaurant is quite nice and I have dinner outside on the veranda as it was warm evening. The service is a little slow, but the food was very good.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Make sure you use a taxi with a meter. If you want to travel around the city, try the Metro, it is really cheap and very fast.

Good value
Good location. Hotel shuttle would not pick up at airport as advertised. Great restaurant and hotel staff was very helpful. All staff encountered spoke English.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
This hotel is located midway between city center and OTP, the major international airport. There is nothing outside of the hotel within walking distance.
