Will use this hotel the next time we are Vienna
This hotel was an excellent value for the money. The breakfasts were extensive and of excellent quality. The hotel lis located just a short distance from the subway station making all parts of the city readily accessible. A wireless connection was available in the lobby for a very small amount for our entire stay of four nights. The room itself comfortably slept three adults, was clean, quiet, and well maintained. We loved this hotel and will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Vienna.

An excellent Base for seeing Vienna
We stopped at the Hotel Deutschmeister for four nights in October 09. The hotel is clean and well run. It is not the Ritz ! but is a very nice hotel with reasonably sized rooms all with en suite. It is located in a quiet street, so you dont get any traffic noise. We found the breakfast of hot scrambled and boiled eggs together with cold meats and cheeses very nice. You also get bread, cake and crossants tea or coffee and cereals etc. The best way to see Vienna is by using the U bahn or underground trains. There is a station 200 metres from the hotel and the trains come every few minutes. The U- bahn is a very efficient transport system which is clean and safe to travel on even late at night, and its cheap ! less than 2 euros for any single journey, even if you change trains a few times. You can also get a 24 hour ticket and longer ones. The ticket covers you for travel on the U-bahn but also the tram system and even the S-Bahn. Get a train map and city map and its easy! We would stay again here.
Check out the ticket prices on the U-bahn Travel from the airport is either by the Cat or ordinary U-bahn and or trams. The Cat is a lot more expensive for a journey that is only a bit quicker! We dined at Leos just down the road from the hotel. Reasonable price and nice food. Menu is in German ! but get them to explain each choice in english.

Will go again!
We loved this hotel for its quiet location, very friendly and helpful staff, great buffet breakfasts and proximity to underground station and tram stops. It was also easy walking distance to the city centre and there were some good eating places nearby.We had a spacious room in the annexe and a pristine tiled bathroom.We found the heating a bit fierce but opening the window slightly made it comfortable.We will certainly use this hotel again if we return to the beautiful city of Vienna where there is so much to do and see.
Get aVienna Card to get unlmited travel and money off entrances to museums etc. Use the local supermarkets for drinks and nibbles to avoid the expensive bars.Use restaurants the locals go to.
