Handy for the sights but close to the train line!
Hotel very handy for the U and S Bahn (5-10 mins walk), nearest stop is Frankfurter Allee, takes about an hour from Schoenefeld airport but allow a bit longer on a Sunday as the trains dont run so often. Also close to a shopping centre with Aldi supermarket, bakery, butchers, various fast food options and dept store, open til 8/9 in the evening. Good breakfast and delish evening meal. Staff friendly and helpful. Room ok, you dont spend much time in it anyway, but the hotel is between a busy road and the railway line (trains went past right outside the window), so if you need quiet to get to sleep at night, this is not for you! But overall a fab stay - we stayed here to visit the Christmas markets, and shopped til we dropped! If visiting Xmas markets, try to include some weekdays in your stay - they get very crowded at weekends. Oh, and go and see the KaDeWe department store (near Wittenberg Platz) - the Xmas displays are out of this world, and the gourmet food on floor 6 is amazing!!

Good Value 3 star hotel
We enjoyed our stay in the hotel - once we had transferred from Room 404 (small, without bath, and and looking out on the S-bahn Ring trains) to Room 408 (much larger and on the quiet side of the building). The staff were very helpful, breakfasts were nutricious, and we enjoyed the dinner when we ate in one evening. The hotel is well positioned being only 5 minutes walk to the Frankfurter Allee S-bahn and underground line stations. And finally the hotel lobby has a reasonably priced internet availability.
Traveller's tip
Opera is good value - 3 theatre opera companies. Best seats at around Euro 80. About a third of the equivalent Covent Garden seats
