Train Station Nearby
Hotel Basilea is less than 10 minutes, by foot. from the Bahnhof in Zurich and around the corner form the Central Bus/Tram Station. Plenty of places to dine nearby. Room was very clean. Breakfast was more than "bread, butter and jam." Choice of cheeses, sliced meats and hard cooked eggs. Staff was helpful in locating various sights/shops. Very safe location. No AC for ventilation, just a window. The street sounds can be distracting on the ground floor, but hotel IS located in dining and beer hall area.

hot, stuffy, expensive for a bare bones hotel
We visited in July and expected a hotel in this price range to at least have air conditioning. It didn’t. There was only a single window and when open, the street noise was loud. Zurich is an expensive city, but I would still expect AC at the least for the high price we paid.

Easy walk from train station
Nothing remarkable about this hotel, but it was an easy walk from the train station. They stored my luggage before check-in. Room was clean. Breakfast was nice.
