Very tired hotel
I have stayed here before and do not remember it being as bad as this.The room was very tired,toilet handle came off,taps very difficult to move and generally the room needed decorated. The other couple with us complained and chnged rooms, as the hotel seemed less than full I would have thought that they should have booked us all into the new area of the hotel.

Don’t take the lift!
The location of this hotel for exploring Cheshire and Liverpool was excellent. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was clean and a good size with a large bathroom. Don’t let them book you into room 56 however as it is next to the chambermaids store and gets noisy early. The lift shook in all directions when going up which was like a fair ground ride which was fun. Not so sure about the quality of the bedding - sheets and a thin bed cover. The room was very hot with no means to turn off the heating. Despite some minor complaints we had an enjoyable stay as we were using this as a base to go to other places.

Ideal
Room sizes really vary and it may be look of the draw but we had room 49 and it was huge, a double a single and a sofa bed. The hotel does what it says on the tin, Ideal for what i needed, the staff are friendly, there is a bar and restaurant and a good breakfast.
