Great stay!
This is a great hotel right near Termini station (5 min walk). It is comfortable, clean, and quiet. If you are used to American hotels, it is relatively small and sort of old-ish, but compared to many Italian hotels it is REALLY nice. The breakfast is really good, but be aware that they charge for it (per person) which was not advertised. Overall, the staff is very helpful (they will make reservations for museums and such), the hotel is nice, and the location is great for the price!
Traveller's tip on dining
There is a great little restaurant a few blocks away called Non ce trippa pe gatti. Here is the address and phone number: Via Urbana, 114 00184 Roma 06 483974 They have a super tasty tasting menu--for cheap! And they have the best homemade tiramisu! Plus the husband and wife owners/cook are really friendly. But dont go early--they are only open from 8pm-midnight every night!

Fabulous location - perfect for sightseeing
We enjoyed 5 nights at the Rex Hotel. The room had everything we needed. It was so close to the Termini station and Via Nationale (buses and trams easy to catch). The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful. The hotel is decorated in a deco style. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was perfect for us.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Go to the Vatican museums on the last Sunday in the month cos its free and will save you 14 pounds each. You can buy a Collosseum, Pallatine & Roman Forum ticket all in one (12 pounds each) and it is valid for two days. You can walk everywhere (but need comfy shoes). And a trip to the football stadium is a must to see some live Italian football. Tickets can be bought very easily at the AS Roma shop in the middle of the city.
