As Bette Davis would say, What a dump!

Yes, I know that it’s inexpensive but there are certain basic standards for any hotel. The shower curtain rod kept falling down whenever we touched it. There was a horrible sewer smell in the bathroom (on the third floor) that made us gag whenever we entered the bathroom. The air conditioning blew frigid air on me all night while my spouse sweated a few feet away. To its credit, the sheets were clean and it wasn’t noisy, even though it’s on a busy street. One desk clerk was a jerk, while the other couldn’t do enough for us. I wouldn’t recommend it and I’d never return.

Ophir Hotel

O.K. for one night, but no longer. Nothing really to recommend it, apart from price but there are cheaper ones that can be found in Tel Aviv and providing better services. On bus route #5 from central bus station and Savidor rail station

Traveller's tip

Always carry tissues with you in case there is no toilet paper
