Another comfortable but rather tired old Bournemouth hotel
This hotel epitomises Bournemouth hotels’ dilemna - + character and well situated with a lick of newish paint but -need for corpo money and bed ’em in let ’em go. Always worth a return but probably nearer 3 than 4 star by today’s standards.

A bit tired and tatty
Cannot see why a 4 star hotel and can think only because it is central to the town. Came back to the bar late in the evening to find a group around the flat screen television eating their Take Away Burgers, plus the lighting in the bar/lounge is set at sunlight level so no atmosphere. Needs work in many areas to get it back to the level of presumed luxury it once was.
