An Incredible Interlude
We had the most wonderful time at the Lodge. The serenity of the forest, the beauty of the lake and the quality of the food and service as well as the ambiance of the environment were unforgettable. If you want to really relax and escape the world, it is a very special place.

Take the Homestead trail into the rain forest. You won’t believe how peaceful and beautiful it is.

The setting overcomes some of the drawbacks
Loved the setting of this hotel and the cozy lodge feeling. The room was adequate, although housekeeping could have been better. Allow plenty of time for service in the on-site restaurant. This is a good spot for people who value natural beauty and a historic authentic feel over 3+star hotel comfort.

incredible location
This historic Hotel/Lodge offers everything an outdoors enthusiast could want. Great location, beautiful lake, the incredible rain forests and beautiful unexplored beaches. And to top it all off, a restaurant with outstanding food. Well worth a trip back, next time for a longer period of time, three days would work fine.
