    Lovely stay

We decided to go to the Beau-Rivage to take advantage of the spa facilities, although it was a higher star category than we would normally go to. It was a lovely stay, with very courteous and efficient staff. The room was spacious and very comfortable; our only comment was that it would have been nice to have coffee/tea making facilities in the room. The spa is extremely relaxing, and we enjoyed our treatments there as well as the pool and the sauna. Its location looking out over Lake Geneva is beautiful, and it’s easy to get from there into Lausanne by frequent buses or to walk along the lake or take a boat across the lake. We didn’t normally dine in the hotel but they had recently opened a sushi bar, where we had a delicious meal.

    Traveller's tip on local attractions

In Lausanne, we happened upon the "Collection de l’art brut" (avenue des Bergières) which was fascinating. It had work by "outsiders" (many of them patients in mental asylums), with interesting descriptions of the lives of the creators as well as videos of two people whose work was in the exhibition. The museum also seemed to welcome groups of disabled people (two such groups were brought there while we were there as well as a group of school children). It was easy to get to on the no. 2 bus.
