comfortable for one
staying at the Hotel Liseberg Haden was for business and it was comfortable for one person, and quiet. The room was a ’double’ with what was supposed to be a queen sized bed. If more than one person slept in this bed the its size meant that they would have to turn over in sequence! Room a little small. Breakfast was more than adequate with a wide variety of cereals, breads scrambled and boiled eggs and rasher bacon and smoked sausages, cooked meats and yoghurts. Cannot comment on evening meal. Staff variable in degree of friendliness, some excellent, others needed a personality injection and some manners. Luck of the draw in who you get. Plenty of restaurants nearby and large park and crazy golf behind. Leisure centre 5 minutes walk away and 10 minutes walk away is the main shopping centre. Taxi from airport costs 335 -375 SK.
buy your bus tickets from any tobacconist/sweet shop they are much cheaper to get around. BUT hotel is within walking distance (for those who are active) of all main sights in Gothenberg.

Ideal location
The hotel is extremely welcoming, with pleasant rooms around garden courtyards. It is a short walk to the museum and theatre, restaurants on the Kungsportsavenyn, the wonderful Botanic garden Trädgårdsforeningenspark, the sports stadium and the Haga antique shops. The opera house and port are a short bus or tram ride away. We were there for a short trip and would happily have stayed much longer
Don’t miss the Art Museum with its 19th-century allegorical groups symbolizing modern life (the telephone is quite something).

Would certainly stay again
The hotel was very pleasant, with well appointed rooms. Excellent breakfasts too. It may not look very central on the map but actually it is, and walkable in 15 minutes from the train/bus station if you’re saving money or keeping fit.
The ’fish church’ is what everyone wants to visit, but beware that as well as being closed on Sundays (unsurprisingly) it’s also closed Mondays.
