Overpriced Breakfast

Stayed here a few years ago, with breakfast included. The hotel was fairly new and standards were high. However I feel that standards have slipped - for the first two nights my room wasn’t cleaned until very late in the afternoon, and on the morning of departure, the cleaning staff (probably looking for a tip) seemed much more anxious to clean before I’d checked out. I enquired about the breakfast price, but at 145 danish krone (about 18 pounds), I thought this excessive, so used the adjacent supermarket for croissants and Bon Appetit just down the road is also worth a look. Good location and very popular with all foreign tourists, but I’d not have wanted to pay the ’full rate’ for this standard of hotel, so was reasonably happy with the 30% Expedia special deal offered.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

Many local restaurants of all nationalities with good ’special’ early deals on offer. Better to dine early or look for ’package’ meal deals Also very good value are the canal cruises - about an hour for about 7-8 pounds, with full English commentary, either from Nyhaven or Gammel Strand.

impersonal but good location

well located with fair sized but basic rooms; no facilities... the whole hotel shuts down on a Sunday and there is little customer focus , or interest, from the staff. Adequate.

A bit Tired

I stayed in two rooms and both were a bit tired and in need of a refurb....Free internet and shower were both plus points.
