decent hotel

This hotel is decent. It is in a residential area, so there are not to many places to eat around. There is a nice bakery just one block away. It is clean and it is true is very close to both the subway and FGC (FGC run train lines similar to the metro around the city centre). The closest FGC stations are Putxet and Padua. The clossest subway station is Lesseps. The subway station is a bit farther than the FGC ones, but is still less than 10 min walk. For those who buy the Barcelona card it does not really matter, because you have free access to both the subway and FGC and you can transfer from one to the other. If you do not have the card, you need to buy separate tickets for subway and FGC. Barcelona has a great transportation system. No matter what you use for transportation you can get in the middle of the town in less than 15 minutes. The hotel is rather spartan (little soap, no tissue paper). If you stay more than a day you can buy those in a smal supermarket just across from the hotel. You can also buy water there and other things you might want. The hotel staff were very, very nice and quite helpful with tips and are well mannered. Breakfast is available in the lobby for 10 EUROS. I don’t know if it is good, but coffee and pastry are excellent in Spain and they can be found almost at every corner

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

You can actually get here from the airport by train+subway. You can take the train from the airport to Praca Gracia and then take either the subway or connect to FGC. The cost of the trip is less than 5 EUROS. If you buy the barcelona card in the airport, it covers both the train and subway/FGC.

Awesome Hotel with great service!! A++

This hotel is a gem. It’s extreemly clean and the location is awesome, only a block and a half from the metro and you can go anywhere in Barcelona for a few Euros. The location is in a quiet residential area so food is quite inexpensive relative to the tourist areas and it felt safe to roam around at night. There are local bakeries, grocery store, and restaurant that are all close by. The hotel staff were all quite helpful with tips and are well mannered. Internet is available in the lobby. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone who’s looking for a nice hotel. If we ever go back to Barcelona, I know where I’m going to stay!

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Take the full day bus tour to see the sights of Barcelona on the first day. This way you can decide if you’d like to go back to an area and spend more time at your own pace. Subway, Line 7, stop El Putxet is the nearest subway station to the hotel, just a block and a half away. You can get to the hotel via train station easily.
