Friendly hotel and area to visit

The evening desk manager was great. We were there August 26-29th. We inquired about various places to eat and she asked good questions. We loved every place that she told us about--We loved the select number bed, slept great, small swimming pool was just right and clean too. The hotel for being historic is very quiet and tidy, the lobby is delightful. A very friendly hotel and area, convenient Gulf Shores, Pensacola and Dauphin Island if you want a day trip to the beaches.

Traveller's tip on dining

The Spot of Tea, delightful refreshing strawberry iced tea, breakfasts are GREAT! Wintzell’s Oyster house, fantastic fried green tomatoes and so many oyster items to choose from. The free moda! trolley was quite convenient to the hotel. If you are looking for candy Three George’s and A&M are "sweet places" Felix’s Fish Camp, views cannot be beat!

Outstanding Antique Hotel

Beautiful old hotel that is very nice in all areas including banquet rooms; lobby; guest rooms; gift shop; hallways; elevator; and outdoor pool. Our two double beds non smoking room was very spacious. Desk clerk/nite auditor were very nice. Location of hotel in down town was convenient to attractions, cruise ship, and Dolphin street restaurants within a few walking blocks. We would definitly stay there again!

Great room for the money

I loved the way the room was designed. It was comfortable and unique. Loved it. And the price was the absolute best, didn’t think I could get a room that nice that cheap.
