A very tired in Spa in need of a Spa break itself
We chose this hotel for a short spa break . Unfortunately the spa is to say the least exhausted , in need of a total makeover , changing rooms small , untidy , showers broke , ladies sauna out of order , pool not clean . All rather disappointing The whole spa had seen better days and really lets down a first class hotel .

Hotel has seen better days
Great location, room overlooking the sea, close enough to walk into town but far enough to be quiet. Buiding looks very tired, paint peeling, interior would have looked grand a hundred yrs ago, now loking very dated. Bedroom needs redecoration, inside of wardrbes stained and dirty. Staff helpful and friendly, trying to make the most of it. Attended a friend’s wedding there, staff very courteous and welcoming. Function rooms well decorated
Try Cilantro, an Indian restaurant in nearby Paignton. Having been brough up on Indian food every day of my life and usually very critical of restaurants, this is definitely one of the better ones, certainly the best I have visited outside London.

Watch out for the extras
Clean and comfortable, and in a wonderful location. This should be a great hotel, but it really lacks any character. Also watch out for additional costs - both car parking and internet access are charged extra, which I do not expect at these room prices.
