Good bargain and comfortable too
I stayed here in Nov 09 after checking quite a few reviews on Expedia and some other websites. I was concerned about some negative comments, things about the hotel being "dark" and the rooms not clean, and the surrounding area a little unsafe looking. After my stay, I can say with confidence this is a great place. My room was comfortable, clean, and quiet, and I had everything I needed. When I wanted to use the jacuzzi, I just walked up to the Mar Monte, one block up the street. The staff was courteous and I had no problems. I highly recommend this place for all but the most serious luxury traveler. It is comfortable and safe, and if you book the right days, you can often get a discount. Happy travels!

Pleasantly surprised!
This hidden treasure is definately one to remember! Granted, no staff - except for housekeeping - is on-site, however one reaps the benefits of a safe, clean stay with the amenities of a 4 star a short distance away! (Check-in/out, bar/restaurant and pool are done throught the Mar Monte main site.) We will definately return!

Parkside in SB
The Parkside Hotel in Santa Barabara is small but nice, very quiet. A little inconvienient having to check-in at the Mar Monte then go to the Parside, but otherwise fine. Ample parking, view of park, easy to get to and from.
