Average hotel; great location
Convenient location next to Shanghai station, rates are very reasonable, the breakfast buffet is tasty, and the service is good. The room (standard superior) was passable: small windows, limited view (big unused area between room window and building outer windows), and somewhat worn down bathroom. Noise from outside all night.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Avoid taxis just outside the hotel.

Needs Improvement
The staff was helpful, friendly, and welcoming. The lobby was beautiful and clean. However, the hotel did not have our reservations and was unable to give us the room we requested. Instead we were put in a smoking room. Also, the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Below average for a four star hotel and the price we paid.

Outstanding Hotel
Friendly staff who spoke adequate English. Went out of their way to hail taxi cabs. Kept room clean though carpet could have been better vacuumed. Will definitely stay again!
