The hot tub didnt work and the room had a slight smell of cigarettes. The staff was very nice and helpful and it was a convienent location to downtown.

Hairs in bed and bathroom, rude front desk staff
We arrived in the afternoon, no one else was there. I had to say "hi" to the desk clerk as he didnt even look up when I walked in. I told him I was checking in, he asked for my credit card, handed me the room keys and said "216 is on this floor halfway down the hall". No information about breakfast, checkout time, etc. I noticed while I was waiting for him, there was a sign posted on the counter informing guests about the building being pressure washed and painted starting at 9 am for several days. If I had not seen that sign I wouldnt have known to close my window/blinds. We got to our room, sat down, and then noticed a few hairs in the bed. I used the bathroom and noticed more hairs in the sink, on the floor and around/on the toilet. So we grabbed our bags and went back to the desk. I asked if we could get a new room as ours wasnt very clean. He didnt say anything, looked in the computer and handed me new keys and said "320 is available". No apology or any form of customer service whatsoever. I was pretty surprised, as I work in customer service and its really not that hard to do at least the bare minimum. Other than the rude staff and dirty room, our new room was great. Comfortable and clean. Continental breakfast was ok, but everyone was waiting in line for the waffle maker and right away when breakfast time ended they started pulling food. We almost didnt get to eat we had to wait so long.
Traveller's tip on dining
This hotel was way out in the industrial area of Portland. It was hard to find anywhere to eat in the evening without having to drive 10-20 mins. We found MacTarnahans Brewery the next day a couple miles away, it was very good. I would definitely recommend it.
