Best Western Orion Hotel, Budapest.

For the type of hotel we selected,on the Buda side of the Danube, the Orion couldn’ t be faulted - turned out to be very well located between two of the main bridges so could quickly walk across to the main part of town but also had a tram stop only about one minute’s walk away which connected with the nearest metro stop. Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfasts, inexpensive, free coffee and internet use and even had 3 very good restaurants (two with outdoor terraces)and a couple of cafe-bars within easy walking distance if you didn’t feel like going very far to eat or drink. What more would most people want from a hotel?!

Excellent hotel, would stay there again.

Fairly central hotel, extremely helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast omelettes excellent! Next door is an excellent restaurant, the Tabani Terasz.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Get a travel pass for the duration of your stay - excellent value and the transport system is very good, consisting of interlinking buses, trams, metro and local trains, all covered by the travel card within the city. If staying at the Orion Hotel, you will probably need to cross the river to get transport to locations on the Pest side - just a 10-minute walk.
