Great!
Good hotel, right next to a MTR station. Service was friendly and prompt. We were originally put into a standard room, but after 2 nights some new guests came on a tour and made a lot of noise. We promptly complained and the hotel moved us, and upgraded our room - for free!! The facilities were adequate, we never used the pool, or ate at the hotel, but both seemed good. The only real complaint I have is that when we left the concierge asked if we were going to the airport, we said no the bus station. Once he knew this he was uninterested in getting us a taxi, and instead sent us around the block to wait in a queue. I do not think this is representative of the hotel, but rather a disgruntled employee. Overall, fantastic!
Try to find traditional cantonese restaurants, they are cheaper and much nicer than the big chains.

Good value hotel
Pros: exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Ideal central location if you dont mind the hustle & bustle of Kowloon. Good area for street markets, between Temple Street and Ladies. Not too far (3 stops on MTR or 2 plus ferry ride) from HK Island and well placed for transport links to all the main visitor attractions. Cons: tiny and rather dowdy (but spotlessly clean) room, pricey food and drinks. Wed definitely use Cityview again but would get a bigger room. Couldnt bring ourselves to try the "Pu" restaurant opposite the hotels back door! Hong Kong is amazing. Transport is fast, frequent, cheap and clean - everything UKs transport isnt! People are friendly, food is safe if youre sensible. Lots to do as well as shopping. Everything works! Makes you realise just how far the UK has fallen behind in the last 10 years. The worse thing we found was tea and coffee at the airport! This was truly disgusting and completely undrinkable - how strange in a place that does food so well!
Get an Octopus card as soon as you arrive, it is such a convenient way to pay for transport in Hong Kong, and its a doddle to top it up. Technology at its best! But remember that if you get a taxi back to the airport (instead of the Airport Express train) you may find yourself a long way from somewhere you can cash in any unused credit and get your deposit back!

Good location & value for money spent
I have stayed at several hotels in Kowloon/Hong Kong. I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the Cityview. The location worked very well for me. The staff were polite and helpful. The room was clean and well maintained. The room size was typical of what is found in the area. The bathroom is extremely small, had my wife been with me on this trip she would not of been pleased. There is no counter room what so ever. Overall I will have no problem reccomending this hotel to anyone. It was a good experiance.
