Right in the Heart of Action
Hotel check-in and check-out was speedy and the staff was very helpful with our needs. The hotel is close to transport lines (rail, bus & metro lines) and the free city tram is a block away to get an overview of the area. There are fantastic eateries from expensive to cheap take away places.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Great museums and many of them are free, such as the NGV (National Gallery of Victoria -- national and international) but a fee for special exhibits. A great walking town as the city layout is on a grid.

central and comfortable
The Rendezvous is a smartly presented hotel in the center of the shopping and and art gallery area of Melbourne. We were able to walk to restaurants, the art gallery and South Bank. The train station and trams allowed us to travel to many parts of the city without taking the car. The bar on the first floor provided a pleasant venue to meet colleagues and friends.
There are many small lanes where it is possible to get reasonably priced meals at a wide range of restaurants.

My 2 cents
The room: I had the club executive, and they put me at the lower floor in the beginning, and I complaint of being small and stain glass window will not open and no view, so they put me at a larger club executive, larger but still in the back with nice stain glass window still does not open and no view. Comfortable, but can not tell from day or not, clear day or bad day. The office table is not in the wrong place, so watching TV is hard, and free internet is the cable not wireless. Making it hard to watch a TV show, unless you get a long TV wire. The bed is super comfortable, and I slept well. The bathroom is clean, but they can scrub the tiles as some are stained. Location, is in the heart of downtown, train station, on a busy street. I felt safe to walk around at night. Will I stay here again, maybe if they will get me the front room with a view. I give this place AVERAGE, price in club executive could be cheaper! The hotel employees was helpful and friendly!
