Fine hotel, good price,

It was pretty good. Maybe they could have more ligth in the rooms or more space to put the belongings, but overall it was a nice stay, at a very good price.

Over-all I was pleased with the hotel. However, they claim to have an exercise room but when I tried to use it, the very limited number of machines were not working so it was very disappointing. It was one of the hotel offers that I was looking forward to.

it was great that the hotel is very close to a shopping mall esp. when the weather outside is not conducive to sightseeing so an enclosed mall was great for a few hours.

If you are traveling to Quebec City, and watching your money, this is a great way to go!

The hotel was clean and spacious. It had a comfortable bed and a balcony. My only complaint was my pool view was hanging over the balcony. The pool was clean, and warm with lifeguard on duty. Many people sat out around the pool and garden areas - nice shade trees and tables. The hotel staff was pleasant and helped us, even though we didn’t speak French. The resterant was nice and overlooked the pool area. There is a bus stop across the street that goes to Old Quebec for a couple of dollars. It leaves every half hour and was very clean. No worries with directions or parking! When I return to Quebec, I will certainly stay here again!

Very good hotel - great value for our first visit to Quebec

The hotel shows signs of aging; the grounds have some weeding and general aging issues, though minor. The rooms and hallways show some carpet stains and overall signs of wear. The value was great through Expedia; we saved better than 33%. I would have been dissappointed at full price! Staff were all professional and very courteous.

Nice Hotel

We stayed in a business class room. It was nice but was decorated as if we were somewhere in Lapland. Room service was good but the actual restaurant in the hotel was extremely sub par. We were chased down one time by the waitstaff, accusing us of not signing the check. VERY EMBARRASSING. It seems that the restaurant staff does not like Americans as a whole. We were treated as second class citizens. Avoiding the restaurant, everything would have been fine.

Excellent value

The hotel provided excellent value and comfort. The only thing I would say is that it was a little further from the center of town than I was led to believe from the description. I would recommend the hotel.

Not too bad but you can find better choices

It’s far from downtown however that’s not an issue, you can take the bus just in front for a 30 mins. trip to get there. The thing is that it’s an old building, room seemed to be clean but we realize they didn’t vacuum the carpet nor shake the bedsheets. We also found some hair in the towels.

If you are traveling by train and your hotel is located at Ste. Foy area, you better get off at Ste. Foy train station so you can save about 50%. We traveled from Ottawa to Quebec by train, the taxi from the Gare du Palais station (downtown) to the hotel was 20.50 CAD. Also be careful with tricky taxi drivers: when we left Quebec, had to take a taxi at the hotel to get again the Gare du Palais station, the driver took another route, so the trip cost increased to 28 CAD...

quiet, relaxing spot to stay when visiting Quebec City

Comfortable hotel, convenient to freeways and to old town Quebec City. The restaurant has a glass wall with lots of greenery looking out upon the pool area. The food was excellent, and the view very relaxing.

Rooms need to be updated

The hotel rooms definitely show their age. The shower head was old and water holes were partially blocked. Hot water in the morning came in bursts. The closet folding door kept coming out of it’s slider everytime I opened it. The TV was also old and some channels did not function properly. The sound on the NBC channel would disappear ramdomly for upto 30 seconds. Extremely annoying. Carpet was dirty. Bed was too soft and sank in the middle. Pillows were nice. The food in the hotel restaurant was excellent. Overall a disappointment. Definitely not worth the price charged.

Short stay but nice hotel

Arrived late at night, but check in was quick and friendly. Room was comfortable, although bathroom was kind of tight. Restaurant was very nice for breakfast, service was wonderful, extremely polite.

Not impressed

The Hotel was very nice. Staff couldn’t be nicer. Disappointed in the accomodations. First room we checked into had a terrible smell. The concerige changed our room immediately. This room was okay. Would have perferred a better room but there wasn’t anything available. All and all the hotel was good. Should have stayed closer to Old Quebec City.

NOT TO FAR FROM THE HEART OF Q.C. ABOUT 7-9 KM. IF ALL ELSE IN TOWN CENTER IS BOOKED, THIS IS A PRETTY FAIR DEAL.

We had a great deal on this hotel room via Expedia, a fraction of the price... So, that made it worth the stay. The staff was very pleasant and we were not disturbed at all during our 7 nights stay.

Centrally located but hotel is in a very high traffic area. Lots of congestion during rush hour.

It was OK.

The location was excellent.The staff was wonderful. We had an excellent meal. The room , however, was good size and comfortable, the upho;lstery was completely worn out, the bedlinen and the towels were old, but clean. This made room REALLY shabby looking.

McGuire Street is close to the hotel, and has some wonderful restaurants.
