Well priced hotel in attractive Tokyo suburb
This hotel is not in the centre of Tokyo but Kichijoji is an attractive area with plenty of restaurants etc. and is on the JR Chuo line so access to Tokyo is quick and easy (10 mins to Shinjuku/20 mins to Tokyo station). The hotel would have scored higher if the bedrooms had been a little larger - you can swing a cat as long but only a small one - but they were well equipped and had everything we needed. Unusually for hotels in Tokyo, this hotel provides free internet access in their lobby.
Japan is a cash based economy and only Citilink banks and Post Offices will dispense money using Maestro cards. Plastic can be used in hotels and larger restaurants/shops.

Great location and reasonably priced.
This hotel is very well located in Kichijoji. It’s pretty much a no frills hotel but I found it to be squeeky clean, with the beds and towels changed every day if you wished. I didn’t use the cafe/bar so can make no comment in that respect. The staff were very polite and help[full and the hotel was extremely quiet. I wouuld defenitely stay there again when visiting family.
Traveller's tip on shopping
Like so much of Tokyo Kichijoji is a shoppers paradise with shops large and small in huge numbers. Everything is within easy walking distance and the shop assistants are so charming and polite. A little tip if you agree to gift wrapping be prepared to send out for a small snack while you wait, the care and time taken over the tiniest item is incredible.
