Not at all "Elegant"

The Park Elegance Unique Hotel is supposed to be a trendy and cosy hotel in a nice area of Buenos Aires, but we felt the managers rely on that aura maybe too largely. The hotel personnel are not particularly polite (we stayed there for 3 nights but none of them was able to remember our room number, not even once. Every time you ask them a question the first word they utter is “No”). The rooms could be cleaner (particularly the bathtub, underneath the bed, the room corners) and better kept (a missing nut from the toilette paper holder can easily become a daily nightmare). I believe what I am trying to say is the Park Elegance definitely does not at all follow the standards of the four stars hotel they claim to be. As soon as we enter the room the - the stuffy smell of the room - the “see through” set of towels (towels so worn out you can see through them) - the torn shower curtain - the mismatched pillows and pillow cases - a human hair between the sheets of the recently made bed all mixed with lovely flower vases and silvery furniture were clear indicators of what we could expect from this hotel. So, unless you are brave enough I would strongly recommend to restrain yourself from booking a room at the Park “Elegance”.

If you are a pizza lover, "El Cuartito" is a complete must. There, you will have the chance to taste the best pizza (small) money can buy and to experience a bit of the lively and typical Buenos Aires. (remember to order one of their specials: Fugazzeta Rellena!!!, aka cheese and onions) And, if you happen to be a vegetarian, there is a tiny little place -an inexpensive vegetarian Indian restaurant- where you can have lunch at (as they serve meals from 12 to 4 pm). It’s called TULASI and is nearby Plaza San Martin and Florida Street (down town). Completely adorable.

Included Tango show was a hoax

Room was to include a Tango show but on check-in learned this would cost an additional US$100 for taxi and dinner

Great Hotel and Value

The hotel is located in a very convenient area on one of the main avenues and close to many sights. Staff was helpful with suggestions and directions etc..Book an inside room to eliminate street noises. Complimentary Breakfast was very good and a great value.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Take the Buenos Aires City Bus tour to get an idea of the various barrios and sights. You can get a 24 or 48 hour pass and they have many pick up points that are in convenient locations and easy to identify. The yellow open air bus is complete with head phones where you can listen to lectures in several languages. You can hop off in one area and spend as long as you like and then hop back on the bus which provides you with an hourly schedule for each drop off/pick up location.
