Great ambience
This hotel looks like it might be 100 years old, but is actually fairly new. It is owned by an American ex-pat. The location is great -- on the top of a mountain overlooking San Jose. The restaurant is good, the rooms clean and comfortable. Overall a great place to stay.

Good value for money
Great view over looking San Jose. Up town and trendy area of San Jose. Expensive but nice resturant.

Tranquility Be Thy Name
Soft colors mixed with stone. A balcony overlooking greenery with gentle breezes. Birds singing a languid pool. Good food with a sunset at times and service that made you feel like a "very special guest". As I said, tranquility to rest up relaxed and ready to go home. Thank you one and all. I am so glad my friends the Tomlinsons, invited me along.
Traveller's tip on dining
Besides dining at the Alta; you need to try the Monastera(sp?) up the beautiful mountain. Fabulous food, service, and a view to die for!!
