Friendly, quiet, small hotel
Stayed for three nights in this hotel. The rooms were generously sized and comfortable with excellent beds. The hotel is located on a canal in a quiet residential area but is only 10-15 minutes walk from all the central attractions. Service was excellent and the front desk staff couldnt have been more helpful. The hotel does not have a car park but on-street disk parking is available. The reception staff are happy to change the disk for you which was very helpful. Breakfast was fine but very overpriced. I suggest you go out. You can get an excellent breakfast for half the price. The hotel does not have much in the way of amentities such as pool, sauna, fitness centre etc but, hey, youre in Bruges. Get out on the street and enjoy this unbearably pretty city! No tea/coffee making kit in the room. Pack the travel kettle. I would be very happy to stay here again and certainly recommend it.
Eating out was expensive but prices seemed to cheaper in the area south east of the main square (three course meal €24, whereas elsewhere that would only gy you a main course).

Friendly hotel
Good service - when we arrived our room wasnt ready so we were given two free breakfasts as compensation. Breakfast is pricey for what it is - can find better things outside in the town. The two problems for us were the terrible smell of drains in our room. The hotel was full so we couldnt change, though I think this might be a Bruge wide problem when its raining. The other thing was the lack of tea and coffee- making in the room. Theres free tea and coffee in the lobby between 12-4pm but this doesnt help first thing in the morning , especially if you dont have breakfast. The people are really friendly and helpful though. And the rooms are fairly spacious. They gave us a discount card for museums etc which saved us quite a bit of money over the weekend
Go to De Garre bar - its on the street that links Burg and Markt, down a little alley. The house beer is fantastic and prices are good. Very friendly - shared tables - so you have to speak to people. Lovely experience

Very happy with our choice
The hotel is attractive, clean and only a very short walk from the town centre. We requested a canal view, to which we got a very prompt reply, but most rooms actually have the view anyway ( the small extra charge quoted was not added to our bill). Staff were helpful and free afternoon coffee was very welcome. If you dont need to be right in the middle of all the action this hotel is a good choice.
The cost of breakfast seemed quite steep so we didnt include this. Perhaps it is a good selection and may be better value than it sounds? Anyway, its fun to go to a local cafe - there are plenty to choose from, and you can save a bit of money.
