Consistently good

Have stayed at the Couvent des Minimes on ten or more occasions over the last few years and the hotel never fails to please. Rooms are comfortable, service is friendly and efficient and breakfast buffet is excellent. Thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay within five minutes walk of Lille’s old town and major shops.

Glorious building of fantasticness

Properly wonderful old building, set with a huge square courtyard in the middle where the restuarant is kept, and the rooms all look out into this central courtyard. It looks like an old monastary, but much more modern now it’s been looked after inside. The car park was an extra 13 Euros a night, so the price quickly racks up, and the bumpy cobbled streets of Lille mean getting there through the maze of one way streets isn’t the easiest, but once there it’s one of the nicest buildings I’ve stayed in. Great place, highly recommend it - a much better alternative to staying overnight in Calais for sure!

Many decent priced restaurants around the square for a stop, around the fantastic architecture of the clock tower and centre of commerce, or whatever that building was...

Perfect for a chilled break

Lovely hotel just a few minutes walk from town centre. In a lovely quiet part of town. Didn’t eat in restaurant but menu looked good if a little expensive. Coffee and cognac in bar after night out in Lille were expensive but the bar has a great laid back feel so worth the cost. Would stay again, was impressed with both hotel and Lille.
