Good Location in Berlin
Can’t fault the hotel. Near to both U & S Bahn stations. About a 10 Min walk to Postdamer Platz.. Both girls on reception where pleasant and helpful, and the inclusive breakfast was more than adequate. The only thing my wife didn’t like was that there only 1 mirror in our room which was in the bathroom. Which meant if I was in the shower she couldn’t use it. Would defiantly stay there again.

A very nice, friendly hotel.
This was a very nice friendly hotel with helpful staff and comfortable facilities. It was nice to stay somewhere which had a bit of personality, and we would love to return at some point. The breakfast was fantastic, and we ended up eating far too much each day... delicious!

Hotel Altberlin
I go to Berlin quite often and I wanted a change: the Altberlin certainly provided it. It is a pleasant family run hotel: the coutesy of the staff is especially notable. The hotel’s facilities are basic but comfortable and it has considerable character and charm, (although the charms of the piped 1920s Berlin songs and the knicknacks in the public area might pall after a while!). Breakfasts are good and the restaurant is an added bonus, albeit closed on Monday evenings. The hotel is very well positioned: a short walk from Potsdammer Platz, the Philamonie, and other major sights; and, on a major bus route with a taxi rank close by. In short, I will use the hotel again. I have recommended it to friends who have not been to Berlin before. It will be interesting to see what they make of it.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Berlin’s Public Transport is quite expensive, especially if you want to mix a journey between U, S and bus. A day travellers ticket is a must.
