Where was the service
My wife and I stayed at this rather bland "four star" hotel recently on a short city break to Bath. The hotel is well located and within a ten minute walk along the Rive Avon to the centre of Bath. The main gripe that we had with the hotel was the very poor service both at dinner and breakfast. The waitress staff had clearly not been trained and scenes with Manuel in ""Fawlty Towers"! sprunbg to mind. To have to ask for sugar or milk three times is not really what one wouild expect from such an establishment. The room was comfortable however and the hotel is adequate for purpose. We suggest you eat in town however.

OK but
The hotel was quite good, but was starting to show it’s age with taps not working properly, creaking floors, shower head needs a de=scale. Staff very welcoming, and foyer, bar, restaurant very clean & pleasant. Needs some detail maintenance, but well worth the time & money spent to get there. I would recommend the hotel if you aren’t too fussy about little details

disapponting - maybe we were just unlucky !
When we arrived we couldn’t check straight in because the computer system ’was down’ - the staff tried hard to get this sorted but without teh computer working they couldn’t even find out which rooms were free - They were polite and helpful and booekd us a restaurant table etc but it wasn’t a good start -- not sure if we ended up with a room thats not used often but the duvet smelt - like it had been washed and then left to dry in a plastic bag -it wasn’t very nice really ! The room had a lovely view over the mill pond though ! but the pongy duvet spoiled things somewhat !!!
