Hotel Nauitica Aug 2008
The Hotel Nauitica in Nice - I have been to Nice many times and know the area very well - which came in handy as the hotel is on the out skirts. Th Hotel was clean and well maintained, the staff were helpful and polite and it had all modern facilities, including Tv, Air Con and a very large bed. The hotel is some distance from Old Town Nice and the beach, therefore I would advice not to choose this hotel unless you are fit and enjoy walking. Overall a good hotel with decent facilities.
The Matisse and Marc Chagall - it’s a must.

This hotel is very basic and and the bed was not very comfortable. This hotel is a long way from the centre of Nice and there is no bar in the hotel.

Quiet location
The hotel was an average 3 star hotel which was clean,comfortable and reasonably priced, it is 15mins walk from the old port, 5mins walk from tram line - stop is accroplis, also the number 3 bus picks up 2mins walk from hotel. We liked the hotel for its quiet location and the fact that its in a not very touristy area, there is a carrefour big supermarket literally 2 streets away so very convenient for buying water etc. we didnt have breakfast at the hotel but you can go to a local bolangerie and eat there for about 7 euros for 2 people, tea, freshly baked croissants and tartines.
Traveller's tip on dining
There is an excellent restaurant by the old port called le lunel, it is a typical french restaurant with traditional menus and the food is delicious and service extremely good.you can see the marina whilst you eat,they do set menus 3 courses ranging from 13 to 23 euros per person which is excellent value.we loved the food here and the big helpings so we went there twice during our week stay in Nice and I would definitely go back again next time Im in Nice.
