Crowded in London
The location and the staff were very nice. The room however, not so good! No elevator to our side of the hotel, so we had to drag our luggage up and down the stairs. The lighting in the family room very poor and ithe room felt more like a dorm than a 4 star Hotel. The beds (3) were so close we could hardly move within the room, and the mattresses, were very poor. The view was horrible, the roof was all we saw. Way over priced for what we did not get.
On London Street, the Essex pub is a great local hang out.

Great Stay, Great Location
Located in a great area, this hotel is just one block from Paddington station, around the corner from several small cafe and eccentic restaurants. The building is small, but the very cozy and accomodating. My family really enjoyed our stay.

Happy with hotel and location
We just got back from a 5 day stay in London and were definitely happy with our chose of this hotel for our London stay. We had read reviews and knew to expect European hotels to be smaller than what we have in the US. But we also stayed in Paris and Nice on our trip and found the rooms to also be small, this hotel definitely had the smallest bathroom, if you were a big person it might be a problem. But the room was clean the lobby was very clean. The staff was extremely friendly, the most friendly of all the staff of the 3 hotels we stayed at our our vacation. The location of this hotel is perfect. It was so nice to walk through Hyde Park and go to Kensington Palace. The park was beautiful. It is so close to Paddington Station it made transportation extremely easy. The area is very safe feeling, was not nervous about coming back to the hotel after dark. They seem to have a little problem with their lift, out of the 5 days we were there we got stuck in it 2 times, but just push the alarm bell button and within a few minutes they are there to solve the problem. If I were to go back to London ever, I would definitely stay here again.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Either before you go or when you get there buy an Oyster Card, we purchased one with only 30 Pounds on it and was able to travel on the tube or bus for the 5 days without paying anymore we actually had 4 pounds left on each of our cards.
