Small Rooms But Excellent Breafast Buffet

Other reviewers of this hotel had forewarned travellers that the standard rooms are extremely small so this was no surprise to me. The en suites were also very cramped. However, the hotel has everything you need - there is a good standard of cleanliness and internet access in the lobby is free. The breakfast this hotel offered was the best I encountered in three weeks of travelling in Chile and Argentina - scrambled eggs, cooked tomatoes, sausage slices, fresh pastries, a range of breads, fresh fruit salad, good quality coffee etc.. The hotel is conveniently located near the Salvador metro station and is a twenty minute walk from the lively bar/restaurant neighbourhood of Bellavista. Reception staff were extremely helpful in guiding me to a football match at the Universitad Catolica stadium on the eastern fringes of the city.

Weatherwise November is a great month to go - lovely warm days but chilly nights. I think the central valley can get unbearably hot from late December through January. June to August can be very wet and the mountain pass to Argentina will perobably suffer closures.

Convenient location, nice neighborhood

Small and old hotel, convenient location, a nice park , to downtown, Barrio Bwellavist a nice atraction and close to the subway. Breakfast is good and the hotel has a charming small courtyard. Lobby very small, ditto the elevators. Staff extremely nice and helpful

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Barrio Bellavista is a must see. With plenty of trendy restaurants, nightclubs, theaters and nearby La Chascona, ione od Pablo Neruda’s homes. The hotel offers several convenient day trips
