Going back next year
We went down to Daytona for Biketoberfest. The hotel was wonderful. We had a beach view, everything was clean, the room was dusty though, mainly on things like lamps and the tvs, but for the price we paid we expected a little dust. The only thing we didnt like was that there was no front desk person past 6:00... so if you needed something there wasnt anyone to help you. Ormond Beach was like 2 miles from Daytona Beach, so it was really nice that our hotel wasnt right on main street. The Kitchenette was extremely helpful too... it was nice to not have to live out of a cooler for the week!
Not much shopping in the area. The mall was VERY small.... if you really want to shop I would suggest driving the 90 miles to Orlando.

Been there twice now and going back
This place is not luxurious but it is neat, clean and user friendly. Everything you need is in the room. Has excellent security. Prefer the beach there to the beach at some of the larger places because its not so crowded and they maintain their properties very well. Very convenient location to everything Daytona. The walls are NOT paper thin like a lot of other placed I have stayed -- you can actually sleep. The design of theestablishment is such that just about every room has an ocean view from the balcony. Kitchens are well equipped. I like all the ceramic tile flooring as it holds less bacteria than carpeting! Good place to stay for the dollar.
It sits right on the main beach street through Daytona but up at the quiet end of it all. Across the street is an I-Hop and close by is a Starbucks and a CVS Pharmacy as well as a TGI Fridays and some other good restaurants.

Diamond in the ruff!
When I arrived at the hotel and looked at the condition of the outside I thought that I had made a huge mistake. But my mind was quickly changed when I checked into my room early with the friendliest staff you can find, and went up to a room that took my breath away. I stayed in a 2 bedroom condo in the North tower with a partial ocean view. The room was SPOTLESS and everything was perfect! The beds were large with huge fluffy pillows and full bathrooms for both bedrooms so all 4 of us didnt all have to try and share one. While the outside of the hotel wasnt much to look at, the customer service and the room were amazing. I couldnt get my husband off of the slide! Granted the outside pool is only about 3ft deep all the way around, but its because its a lazy river, if you need a deep pool there is an indoor one. We have vowed that the next time we go to FL this is where we will be staying!
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
The local publix is only a stone throw away from the hotel and we stocked up our fridge the first day and saved a bundle by eating in using our kitchen rather than eating out for 3 meals a day.
