Cant beat the location!
Although the room was a bit "European", i.e. small, by modern standards, I really like the Park Plaza. It was originally designed to give middle class people a taste of a grand hotel, and it succeeds admirably. Located near the Public Garden (one of my favorite haunts when I lived in the Back Bay 30 years ago), and a short walk from Kenmore Square and Fenway Park, with North Beach and Beacon Hill nearby, one can get a full taste of Boston in a short stay. There are numerous restaurants close by, some less than a block away. In the morning, one can stock up on very good coffee and heavenly pastries at Au Bon Pain next door (eat your heart out, Starbucks!). The lobby is delightful, a taste of European grandeur. Oh yes, the Arlington T station (thats MBTA to the uninitiated) is a few steps away. I did enjoy my stay at the Marriott Copley a couple of years ago, but the next time Im back in the old burgh, the Park Plaza will be on my short list.

What shower?
The room was so small my luggage almost didnt fit! The bathroom was unable to "handle" a low wattage hairdryer and the circuit kept tripping! The shower was AWFUL! It was so small I couldnt face the shower head I had to stand sideways while the shower curtain attempted to stick to me! This hotel is old and elegant in the lobby and old and not funcitioning in the rooms. Felt like I was staying in a youth hostel.
