nice hotel
I got a pretty good rate and was happy with the room. Only a few blocks from Michigan Ave and a nice view of the river. I was able to check in early and that was really convenient. The hotel restaurant is closed (guessing due to lack of business), but they were serving the full menu in the bar. I chose room service and it was very fast and tasted good. No bargain prices, but I was not expecting them! All the staff was very friendly.

Hotel is nice but the staff....
I really dont know what to say about my stay at the Westin Chicago River North. It was bitter sweet. The hotel was nice, clean and in a perfect location. So what was the problem?? THE STAFF. Seems like the people on the lower end of the totem pole (housekeeping and greeter) were by far more educated in hospitality then the rest of the staff. They were corteous, well-mannered, carried conversations with guests and just made you feel welcomed. On the other end, the front desk and concierge girls were rude, not corteous, rude, not helpful, rude, "stuck-up" and did I mention rude? When staying at any hotel, let alone a 4-star hotel, one should be treated nicely and in a corteous manner. I felt that the lobby staff were extremely standoffish, rude, NOT corteous, unhelpful and were simply there to collect a paycheck at the end of the week. It truly felt like they thought they were better and just did not care to be helpful. If it werent for the staff I would stay there again, however as long as the Westin employees personnel that really should not be working in the hospitality industry, I will NOT be staying in another one of their hotels.

Great property, super value.
Very nice hotel. Room was extremely clean and the staff was first rate all the way. Great location to all the downtown attractions. Would definately stay here again.
