I’m very glad I chose Inn at the Peachtrees

I chose to stay at Inn at the Peachtrees while attending a conference at the Hilton because it was half the price of the fancy hotels -- I saved several hundered dollars over a 4-night stay. It is just a safe and short walk to the downtown shopping, sightseeing, hotel conference centers, and MARTA subway station. Inn at the Peachtrees is a quaint older hotel, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The housekeeping was not perfect but it was acceptable and I could use the money saved for many other things.

Take the MARTA train from the airport to downtown. All the downtown hotels are walking distance from the stations. It is easy and very inexpensive.

Great staff but hotel remodeling

The staff at this hotel were extremely customer service oriented, they were wonderful. The staff made this hotel! The hot breakfast consisted of Waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage,grits, potatoes, biscuts, bagels, cereal, etc. a pretty nice spread. The rooms are all "outside", in-other-words, the walkways (on levels 2 and above)were exposed and not inside a building. That was a bit of a surprise. I’m sure during a good rain there would be a good probablitly (depending on the wind) that you would get wet. The room itself was standard size (we had a double) decent furniture, good condiditon, clean, but carpet was outdated and old. No central heat and air it was a wall mount under the window. The hotel itself was obviously undergoing remodeling. We were attending a convention so we were not in the room except to sleep. The best way to describe it was "utilitarian". I would recommend this hotel - however my first question would be "how much time will you be spending in the room?". Again, the staff made this hotel. We plan on staying again to see what the remodel looks like.

Traveller's tip

If you’re taking Marta from the airport get off at Peachtree and walk "downhill". This hotel is close to the Aquarium and the park. If you have a family the free breakfast will be a great saving!

Convenient, not Cleanly

Located near the center of downtown Atlanta, reasonably priced and staff was helpful. $15/day was not mentioned before. Room was looked like it had been cleaned but needed renovation particularly in the bathroom i.e. wallpaper was peeling and vinyl contact paper on floor of the shower looked bad. Overall, if you need to be located downtown and can overlook some dinginess this might be the right place for you.

Traveller's tip

Police nearby all seemed very helpful with directions. Walking distance from Georgia Dome, aquarium, and Coca-Cola museum and several other places. Front desk had maps of downtown that was helpful.
