hotel good location, but room disappointing
the hotel had its own dock, which was very handy, but the rooms were not half as good as the pictures in their ad on the internet. no two rooms were the same size, or shape. the bathroom was very inconvenient and small. breakfast was adequate, but not terrific. not too many choices,
Traveller's tip on local attractions
the hotel was only about three blocks from san marco and was very handy for shopping, etc. but all the restaurants in that area catered primarily to tourists, and therefore were quite expensive. all of Italy is quite expensive now.

Excellent location
If you want to be in a clean, comfortable room near the action in St. Marks Square, hotel All Angelo is a good choice. If you are more comfortable in a hotel where the reception staff speaks English well, hotel All Angelo is a very good choice. If you are looking for an ample breakfast served in a quiet, clean space, again... All Angelo is a good choice. If having a room with a view is a priority, you might want to select another hotel. Our experience was good and I found the price fair for the location and season.

Great room for the money - excellent hotel
The Hotel AllAngelo is located in a beautifully restored 17th century building. The full suite in which we stayed was bi-level, with a sitting/living room on the lower level and a quite large (for Europe) bedroom on the upper level. The airy and well-lit bedroom had wooden floors and high ceilings with exposed beams. The suite included two very clean and modern bathrooms, a larger one with a separate shower/bath/etc. and smaller one with a only a toilet/basin. The windows provided a picturesque view of a small canal with the hotels private canal landing. The breakfast buffet was complimentary and quite good, including eggs, warm meats, juices, fruits, fresh bread, etc. The hotels has a number associated restaurants in the immediate area, and they provide a coupon for 20% off for those restaurants. The staff was very helpful in recommending places for us to see during our short stay. If you take the Vaporetto (much cheaper than a private water taxi), its best to get off at the San Marco stop as the route to the hotel is much more straight forward (especially at night). All in all a very pleasant stay - highly recommended.
