Never to return!
I would never go back to this hotel, it needs a deep clean and a complete refurb....a nice foyer and chandeler is a complete charade! My hotel room was the size of a broom cupboard stuck on the middle of the hotel with no window....a prison cell would be more appropriate. When you consider the two best alternatives (Malmaison and City Inn) at very competitive prices this felt more Faulty Towrs than Britannia. I would actually next time stay 10 miles out than stay here.
Research before you go out. The immediate area is not the best. Grado is a lovely Spanish Tapas style which is within 5mins walk. The Malmaison and The Abode both do great food.

Have used several times
This is a large grand hotel but is in need of redecorating and general updating. However the rooms are very comfortable and the service of a high standard. I have stayed there several times and been happy with each stay.
The hotel is a short walk from the main train station (Piccadilly) and is ideally situated to explore central Manchester. Everything you need - shops, nightlife, transport links are within easy walking distance.
