Perfect hotel, very good location
I only stayed there 2 days during my weekend trip to Paris but Ill definitely come back. Id stayed in a couple of other small hotels in the center of the city on my previous trips, but this one is the best. Everything is clean and in perfect order, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast is not included (which is good for me) though very nice. The location is good enough - its not in the very center but close to Tour Eiffel (around 5-7 mins walk) and right next to La Motte Picquet-Grenelle metro station which is a connection point of 3 metro lines, so you can get to almost any part of the city quite easily. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

REALLY enjoyed this hotel
It cant say a negative thing about this hotel and I stayed in more than few less than perfect hotels over the years. While our triple room was not big by American standards, the bathroom was gorgeous. Actually, we are in the process of redoing a bathroom in our house and Hubby took pictures. The location couldnt have been better with an easy walk or boat ride to everything we wanted to do. To thumbs up and my daughter, Hubby and I cant wait to return to Paris and this special hotel.

You simply must stay here - it is fabulous!
We just returned from the beautiful Hotel Ares and were delighted with our stay here. We were greeted pleasantly and given a map of all areas in Paris as well as the metro which we kept with us the entire time and was priceless. The room was as stunning as I had read in previous reviews. We stayed in a classic room which was bijou and perfectly formed. Comfortable bed, light and airy room with romantic ambience, beautiful designer features, towels and bedding changed every day. I had read peoples reviews about the rooms being too small but who goes to Paris to sit in the room?? The Hotel Ares is less than 10 minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower with La Motte Picquet Grenelle metro station 5 minutes walk away which takes you anywhere you want to go in Paris. Its in a peaceful location, set back from the busy streets and constant noise but minutes from great shops and restaurants. We met the owner the day we checked out and he was genuinely interested that we were happy with every aspect of our stay - a lovely, warm gentleman who has selected friendly, helpful staff offering excellent customer service. If you havent done it before, try the Eurostar -its puncutal and much less stressful than flying. After arriving at Gare De Nord in Paris and travelling via metro to the Hotel Ares, we were in our room in less than 45 minutes!
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
We took the metro everywhere. It costs 1 euro 60 cents per trip, per person including getting from Gare De Nord to the hotel which is seriously cheap if you compare it to London prices for getting around on the underground. You should try Angelinas on the Rue De Rivioli for their hot chocolate, they are famous for it and it is delicious. Although this is an upscale restaurant, they are more than happy for you to just order their hot chocolate. Enjoy....
