Get the flavor of Old Barcelona
This hotel was located in the old city directly across from the gothic cathederal. Many tourists attrations were located within walking distance. There was also a bus stop and Metro entrance nearby if you needed transportation to other areas of the city. The staff was very helpful and its restaurant and sidewalk cafe provided a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing.

Quiet and relaxing break in Barcelona
I would recommend this hotel for its family style attention and old world grandeur. Rightly popular with American tourists, this hotel was quiet and comfortable even though it was in the middle of the Gothic district with its restaurants and bars. the Shopping streets were a short walk away and although the GB pound is weak at the moment we spent many happy hours exploring Barcelonas little specialist shops. Highly recommended,
Travel on busses and metro to see all of the city but buy the multi-trip passes as they are good value and can be shared among the family or group. the Barri Gothic district has restaurants which are not so touristy but also not so locals only.

Great location, pity about the rest
The location is superb, right on the cathedral square and therefore handy for both the Bario Gothic, El Born and other areas. However we stayed during a festival and, even though we had a room round the back, the soundproofing was completely inadequate - not great when some concerts started at midnight and even more annoying than the cleaners hoovering in the corridor outside the room at 8.30 am. The decor is old fashioned and so if you are loking for the modern design Barcelona has become known for, this hotel is not for you. Overall, a great location which, depending on your attitde, may compensate for its shortcomings.
