Wonderful!

We had a wonderful five-day stay recently at Hotel de Tuilleren. The hotel is a beautiful property with marvelous old-world ambience and an excellent staff. Our room, number 43, was very large with a private outdoor seating area. It was off the street and very quiet. Our rate did not include breakfast and thus we did not try the $48 meal. Brugge itself is wonderful, with dozens of shops and restaurants. It is worthwhile to take the short bus ride (or boat or bike in the summer) to Damme. It is a tiny town with a nice church and a few antique shops. The real draw, however, is Tante Marie - a fantastic meal is to be had here - the best meal we had in Belgium. Enjoy!

It is extremely easy to get to Brugge! On arriving in Brussels by plane, the train station is underneath the terminal, just two flights down. When you get off the elevator, there is a large room with ticket windows at one end. They speak excellent English, and there you can purchase tickets to Brugge - we found 2nd class to be just fine. The tickets are good for any train that day, and they run about every 30 minutes. You simply go up the escalator from the lobby and look for the sign saying "Brugge". (Note: Bruges is a French word and not used by the Belgians. The correct pronounciation is Brug-uh.) The ride to Brugge is about 40 minutes. Arriving in Brugge, you can walk to your hotel - most are a 15 minute walk or so, but can be a little challenging rolling a suitcase on the cobblestones. The buses run to the city center every 5 minutes or so. A cab to the Grande Place area is about 8 euros.

excelent choise thanks to expedia

Beautifull hotel, very good location in front of the canal, wonderfull view from all rooms, its located in the heart of bruges, walking distance of everything, nice and quiet, the service was wonderfull, the rooms are really big and decorated beautifully with very good taste; the comfort, space and cleanliness of the rooms and of every space in the hotel are remarcable. We recomend it very much and we are eager to spend some time there in the future, many people told us that bruges was for half or one day, good for us we didnt listen, we were there 2 and a half days and was marvelous.THIS WAS ONE HIGH LIGHT OF OUR TRIP.

Bruges its so small you walk to everything, they have great museums, people are very friendly, its a medieval city that havent lost its character and spirit, very romantic, beautifull and clean. Its very nice to go on a tour by water craft in the canals. Its a very lively little city, its magical, and you eat very good. Its very easy to go by car or train, from brussels its a 40 minutes trip by train.

Well located luxury

This hotel is very well situated for all the major sights in Bruges, as well as restaurants and shops. Given most visitors only come for the day a canal side room is lovely, and not noisy overlooking the street. We found it comfortable and relaxed - and relaxing - with very helpful staff. Its always good to stay somewhere that is first rate, but also informal and different. The restaurant, separately run from the hotel, is small, with delicious food and excellent service - you need to book, and only open part of the week. For the quality we thought good value too, for the Menu Belge, including a beautiful bottle of Cotes du Rhone wine served at just the right temperature. It does make a difference!
