Very Helpful Staff
The Dorint in Dresden is a very lovely hotel with a very helpful staff who are fluent in English. Location is good, withing walking distance of the city historic center. And one of the tour buses stops just outside the hotel entrance. There was also a terminal near the front desk for travelers to check email and it was quite private, which was very nice. Internet access was complimentary. The only negative was that breakfast cost an additional 16 euros ($24.00 with the exchange rate at the time). We never had breakfast in the hotel and had to hike a ways to find a restaurant offering breakfast. However, I would still recommend the hotel.
We traveled via Euro City train from Vienna to Dresden and it was a very scenic ride, particularly when we entered the Elbe River Valley.

Definitely not 4 stars
The hotel was fine. Clean and nice and met basic standards, which to me equates to a 2+ to 3 star hotel. It did not however raise to a 4 star level.

I recommend this hotel for the location, walking distance from the old center, with a very frendly staff
