Le Touessrok - Great for a fantastic honeymoon
My wife and I spent three nights at this superb hotelat the end of our honeymoon on Mauritius in September 2008. The setting is simply amazing and the half-board included evening meal was opulent to say the least. From that point of view it was good not to have stayed longer as we would have gained lots more weight. The hotel is blissfull luxury and comes with its own 18 hole golf course where we enjoyed a free initiation session. The green fee is included for hotel guests if you are serious about golf and you only have to pay for the mandatory buggy. We also enjoyed the first class bands in the evenings and the immaculate grounds. The staff (including the butler) are super attentive without being intrusive. This is probably why it is very popular with British guests. It was the crowning finale of our honeymoon which started in a chambre dhote, then moved on to a 4-5 star hotel and then ended up here. Definitely has to be experienced at least once in a lifetime.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
We met a number of guests who were just happy to stay at this paradise resort. We were quite happy though to have booked a rental car from a local Mauritian company for about 20 pounds/1000 MRU a day. This gave us the freedom and flexibility to explore this wonderful island and also appreciate the not-so-glorious parts. It also saves the airport transfer charges as we were met there and given the car. In the end we also returned it there.

Outstanding service, but be prepared to remortgage your house!!
There is little wrong with Le T. Idylic setting, private beaches, world-class golf and spa facilities and outstanding service from the many friendly hotel staff. Sadly we chose to go in winter when it gets very windy and rains a little, bt not fault of the hotel! The hotel is practically the perfect resort but beware it is very pricey once you are there - not one if you are budget conscious...and there is little to do in Mauritius other than spend your time in and around top class resorts.
